Yooperlite, also known as fluorescent sodalite, is a type of syenite rock that originates from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan,  known as the ‘Yooper’ region. This unique stone is found along the shores of Lake Superior. 

The Yooperlite is composed of syenite, an igneous rock formed from cooled magma. It contains minerals such as microcline feldspar, sodalite, nepheline, cancrinite, and pyroxene. These minerals are responsible for its distinct glow when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light.
