The warrior maiden wears her hair half up and half down. Legend is that the village was being attacked by enemies while her hair was being put into traditional butterfly style. Wanting to help her own villages' warriors, she fled to grab her spear and shield and fight with the warriors to protect and save her village.
The Warrior Maidens are highly revered in the Zuni and Pueblo culture.
